How Much Are Husky Puppies? – The Answer May Surprise You

Have you made up your mind to buy a puppy Siberian Husky but you don’t know how much it’ll cost you? Lucky for you, you made it here. In today’s blog post we’ll be looking at the cost of purchasing a puppy Husky.

You have made up your mind to purchase one and it’s not surprising that you would. Huskies are boisterous, beautiful, and lovable dogs. In the past decade, they have become quite popular.

In 2018, this dog breed was ranked the 14th most popular dog breed in America by the American Kennel Club.

Unlike several dog breeds, the cost of purchasing a Siberian Husky is on the high side. Added to price, the cost of training one isn’t cheap either but if you can look past that, you’d be glad you purchased one.

How much do Husky puppies cost?

There’s no straightforward answer for the price of a puppy Husky because the pricing is based on a variety of factors such as its age, purpose, appearance, pedigree, and history.

Additionally, since they have risen in popularity in the past decade, popularity also plays a major role in increasing the price of these lovable puppies.

If you were to buy a show-quality purebred Siberian Husky, it should cost you around $975 to $2500. Pretty high right? Purebreds without pedigree certification cost lesser than those with one.

Having a puppy that has been certified by reputable organizations like the American Kennel Club can affect the price and possibly increase the price by an extra $500.

Certification verifies that the dog is of a purebred bloodline and that you are not being ripped off.

Remember I said age is a factor to consider when buying the puppies because they have a role to play in determining the price of the puppy? If the puppy is aged between 8 to 12 weeks then it’ll be very expensive but then, the price decreases with age. So if you want a cheaper Husky you’d have to go for an older one.

Another factor to consider is the traits the dog carries. Does the puppy have a widespread or uncommon trait? The trait also affects the price of the puppy.

Let’s say you want to purchase a miniature Husky. Miniature Huskies are really popular and just as you might have guessed, expensive.

A miniature Husky could easily go for $2500. Also if they have different coloured eyes it could shoot up the price or if it has a pure coat.

That’s why a puppy Husky with an Agouti coat could you up to $3000 while a white coat would go for $2500.

So if you want a cheaper Husky then you should be on the lookout for one with less desirable traits.

For instance, a Husky with a woolly coat is cheaper and puppies born with abnormalities and/or health issues are also cheaper (cost below $700) but I advice against that.

Buying the Siberian Husky from a reputable breeder should cost you anywhere between $1000 to $2500.

The gender of the dog doesn’t affect fact the price so you can go ahead to buy a male or female but know that the males do grow to be a few pounds heavier and larger than the females which means you may have to spend more training one.
